Trail Work Party in Whitefield April 29

Trail Work Party in Whitefield April 29

Date: Sat. 29 Apr, 2017 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Duration: 4 Hours

Join the Whitefield Trails Committee and Midcoast Conservancy as they team up for a joint work day this Saturday, April 29. Meet at the Sheepscot General Store at 8 am for optional breakfast with Whitefield Trails Committee members and Midcoast Conservancy staff. At 9 am, all participants will convene at the Sheepscot General Store parking lot to divide up the projects and then to head out in groups to the trail heads. We will do light maintenance at the Mars Ridge and Happy Farm Trails. The group that does maintenance at the Sheepscot West Branch Trail will then join Midcoast Conservancy staff and our Maine Conservation Corps volunteer to renovate bog bridges at the Whitefield Salmon Preserve.

Projects will be completed by 12PM. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and work gloves if you have them. Bring water and snacks. Bring hand tools such as bow saws and loppers – we’ll have extras available . More volunteer work projects will be scheduled every second Thursday and last Saturday from April – October! Join us as we work to manage our protected lands all over our region. Email Midcoast Conservancy Land Steward Hannah at hannah@midcoastconservancy.org, or call 389-5158 if you have questions or to let us know you’re coming.
