community panel discussion Wednesday, September 28, at 7:00 pm, on browntail moth mitigation in midcoast Maine. According to Charlene Donahue, Forest Entomologist with the Maine Forest Service, “NOW is the time to plan.” Panelists will give an overview and status of the current browntail moth situation, discuss impact on trees and humans, precautions to take in infested areas, and what can (and cannot) be done to mitigate the problem. See samples of overwintering nests, egg masses, cocoons, and live young so you are better prepared to recognize browntail moth infestation.

Additionally, these experts can answer questions about handling precautions, prevention, community health concerns due to exposure, what YOU can do to protect yourself, and more.
